The 2024 May Awareness Initiatives

On May 22, Federation Square in Victoria was glowing in blue as the HD community gathered to raise awareness for Huntington’s disease. We saw an overwhelming turnout, with the HD community arriving in their best blue fits to show their solidarity and support for those affected by HD.

As the sun set, the atmosphere at Federation Square transformed into something truly magical. Our “Light it Up 4 HD” initiative was a stunning success, with iconic landmarks across Victoria illuminated in a brilliant blue. The dazzling display served as a beacon of hope and a powerful visual statement of our commitment to fighting HD.

The community gathered with glowsticks, face paint and many other wonderful blue items, creating a mesmerising scene that was both beautiful and poignant. This stunning display not only captured the attention of passersby but also spread awareness about Huntington’s disease far and wide. It was a moment of unity and a reminder that together, we can make a significant impact.

One of the highlights of the day was the sense of community and camaraderie that flowed through every aspect of the event. From painting face to eating pizza, everyone came and left with shining smiles.
