Shine a Light on Huntington's Disease
Light It Up 4 HD
Light It Up 4 HD is a global awareness raising initiative that takes place every year during HD Awareness Month.
Iconic buildings around the world light up in blue to help shine the light on Huntington’s disease and the impact it has on our community.
Over the years, Huntington’s Victoria has been fortunate to partner with a number of Melbourne CBD and Regional councils and organisations who have lit their buildings and landmarks in blue over time.
Community Initiatives for 2026
This year, we’re putting a special spotlight on community-led creativity through Light It Up 4 HD.
We’re encouraging community members, families, and local groups to “light it up” in any way that feels right—big or small.
“Light it up” doesn’t have to mean actual lights—it’s about standing out, being seen, and sparking conversations in any way you can.
Simple ways you can participate
Illuminate Your Space
Encourage your community to participate by lighting up homes, workplaces, and public spaces in blue to show support for HD awareness.

#LightItUp4HD in Victoria over the years
The Light It Up campaign began as a global movement to raise awareness for Huntington’s Disease by illuminating landmarks in blue.
In Australia, this initiative has grown significantly, uniting communities to highlight the challenges faced by those affected by HD. Our mission is to spread understanding and support through the power of light, creating a brighter future for everyone affected by this condition.
